Metropolitan has Minimum pay program which is $1,100.00 a week and $1,200.00 a week for drivers with the HAZMAT endorsement..

Metropolitan Trucking offers industry leading pay rates because we believe in paying for your experience and compensating you with a leading wage regardless of miles. We do this through a minimum pay program so you can always count on a consistent check each and every week. We call it our “We Care” safety net. If you have trucking experience, expect to make more with Metropolitan from your first day on the job.

HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR PAY PACKAGE INCLUDE:

◊ Sliding pay per mile rates based on lengths of haul. Shorter miles equal higher rates per mile paid to the driver. Always a fair wage for a fair day regardless of miles. The average Metropolitan driver earns an effective average rate per mile, in an average week of over .62 cents per mile. 

◊ Minimum Pay Program to always assure a driver they can earn a consistent paycheck EVERY week. We call it    “We Care Pay”

◊ Detention Pay 

◊ Stop Off Pay 

◊ Layover Pay when applicable 

◊ Hazardous Material Premium of .05 cents per mile if you have an endorsement and haul a hazmat load 

◊ Pay Based on Practical Miles

◊ Holiday Pay for 6 holidays 

◊ On Duty Breakdown Pay when applicable 

◊ Vacation Pay 

◊ Safety Bonus 

◊ Referral Bonus – Earn up to $1500.00 for every experienced driver you refer that is hired. 500.00 paid 3 weeks after hire, 500.00 paid at 6 weeks and another 500.00 if the driver remains 1 year.

Health Insurance - Plan through Blue Cross/Blue Shield

 ◊ Effective Date

Once your application for insurance has been accepted, coverage will begin on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. 

◊ Health Coverage
The plan provides comprehensive hospital and major medical insurance.

 Prescription Drug 
The company provides a prescription drug card plan as part of the health benefit program.

Dental Insurance - Plan through Delta Dental

◊ Effective Date 
Once your application for insurance has been accepted, coverage will begin on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.

◊ Dental Coverage
Participants will pay a percentage of the co-insurance and deductible based on the type of procedure performed.

Life Insurance

◊ Effective Date
Once your application for insurance has been accepted, coverage will begin on the first day of the month following one calendar month of employment after hire.

◊ Life Coverage
Employees will be entitled to employer paid life insurance coverage with a face value of $15,000. This plan also offers an accelerated life benefit pay in the event of a terminal illness and the ability to purchase additional voluntary insurance for themselves or dependents.

Short-Term Disability Insurance

◊ Effective Date
Employees are entitled to Short-Term Disability benefits the first of the month following one year of service.

◊ Short Term Coverage
Disability coverage is for non-work related sickness or injury. The Short-Term Disability Plan has a maximum benefit period for a limited number of weeks, subject to a 30 day elimination period. The weekly benefit amount is generally 60% of the employee’s weekly wage/salary, subject to a maximum weekly limit.

Flexible Benefits
The employee’s contribution for health, vision and dental coverage will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck on a pre-tax basis. This pre-tax advantage is made possible by Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code.

401(k) Plan
This component allows the employee to set aside pre-tax dollars, with a percentage company match via payroll to a retirement account.

Driver Qualifications at a Glance:

    ◊   Be at least 22 years old
    ◊   Have a minimum of 6 months recent verifiable tractor trailer experience
    ◊   No more than 2 preventable accidents in last 3 years.
    ◊   Have a valid class (A) CDL
    ◊   Meet DOT requirements
    ◊   Pass a company physical, including substance screening
    ◊   No DWI/DUI convictions (last 5 years)
    ◊   No more than 3 moving violations in 36 months
